If you’ve made it this far, thank you, sincerely thank you.
I want to tell you a story about how simply playing video games can be life changing. *If you only want to know about the hair, skip to the bottom.*
If you don’t know what Twitch is, it’s a video game broadcasting/viewing platform. I am a Twitch Affiliate (I’ve met minimum requirements to earn revenue) & I do occasionally stream. It’s probably no surprise that I’ve always enjoyed playing games, from the Sega Genius & (Super) Nintendo Entertainment System to N64 to DreamCast & GameCube to each of the PlayStations & Xboxs, all the way to the custom built PC I’ve only had for a few months. I’ve always had some sort of gaming system and have always been competitive about the games I’ve played. I even credit video games for a lot of my sports knowledge, but that’s a whole different story.
This one is about when I admittedly discovered I could make a few bucks on Twitch simply by playing video games, I was totally in. That’s where it started, but over the past 7 months my perspective has completely changed. Now, a part of a the best community on Twitch (s/o & thanks to @ItsFreshy, a full-time streamer pursuing his dream), I’ve met some of the most genuine people and made life-long friends that quickly taught me the motto “Never expected, always appreciated”. It didn’t take long to change my perspective on those “few bucks” and man am I thankful for that, as it’s now the last thing on my mind. I know that probably seems easy for me to say (type), but stop by the channel sometime and you’ll hear it yourself. I prefer that people donate to other streamers. Others that are doing a charity stream, others like Freshy pursuing his dream, others like KennyCheats who believes in “Paying it forward”, others like BlzMrCarry who donates to Children’s Foundations OR uses donations to help purchase game consoles that are then sent to Children’s Hospitals. These and so many others (listed in my bio) are the ones that I love to see get donations. Me…well I do it for the community.
Of course I can’t stop anyone from donating or subscribing, especially if they want to one of the 5-7 Adam Sandler emotes specific to my channel, but that’s why I am writing this. As a thank you to those that have helped me reach my highest subscriber count yet, also unlocking the 5th tier 1 emote slot. I made it known that I had the goal to reach 50 subscribers so I could upload another emote, not for myself, but for those that do subscribe each so they can have that extra emote, adding that much more value. As incentive, I also added that I would be dyeing my hair Platinum Blonde if we reached 60 subscribers…Well….here I am typing this, with Platinum Blonde hair, sitting at 70 subs for the month. It took less than one stream and for that, I thank anyone and everyone that has showed support to the channel in any way.
With that being said, if you do want to support me let me quickly tell you about Twitch Prime. Amazon Prime members can get a free Twitch subscription each month by linking it to a Twitch account here: twitch.amazon.com/prime.
Never expected, always appreciated ❤
